A great time was had

This coming week will be our last week at the old premises so this week and next meant we were and will be able to dress down and chill a little.

The girls organized an after work dinner at a great buffet restaurant with about twenty of us attending which shows great support for our department considering it only has 26 members in total.

After the dinner we were to head for a lively pub/bar that a few of them frequent. I followed the crowd and was truly glad I did, I had a wonderful time and got to know my colleagues even better.

Had my ‘first’ phone chat with someone from VR tonight, I say ‘first’ as I hope it will be the start of many. She is easy going and you instinctively become aware of a person of quality! She writes regularly to a journal that I have been addicted too …. never told her that :-P

My daughter tells me there is a girl in her class who is Goth, the girl said, that because she has black hair she was ’born to be Goth’.

I thought that was kinda deep and amusingly reflective for someone to say.

So I asked my girl what she thought of that. She said we just laughed.

Another dream shattered, another Goth on the path to Emohood!

You know you’re getting old when your daughter quotes you from Avril Lavigne!

The small window that I had to go to the States has now closed, I never built up my hopes as I knew it was going to be tight.

My cousins have now left and are safely back in Minnesota. It was a pleasure seeing them again and my how the little one has grown. In fact both their boys will be tall (I am so jealous) and of course lady killers.

This is Cameron (flying the flag) and Jacob. They are so adorable and wanted to stay with me even when ma and pa left .. lol
